I am Joseph Chang, MS, L.Ac., a San Francisco-based licensed acupuncturist. My treatments focus on qi gong therapy with acupuncture and herbal medicine. I have more than a decade of independent practice and co-founded the Original Yin School of qi gong with my brother Albert Chang, Ph.D.
My education was both in Taiwan and Oakland, California, and I am licensed by the California Acupuncture Board. My services are provided in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Taiwanese.
I am Kate Maxey, a California and Nationally Licensed Acupuncturist since 2010. I first came to Joseph at House of Qi as a patient and stayed as a student and now a practitioner. My previous training was in Swedish and Shiatsu massage which I bring to the table in each of my sessions, combined with the “Qi Gong Therapy” House of Qi is known for.
As an avid yogini since 1995, I will invite you to connect with your breath and bridge the gap that keeps us disconnected from our own healing processes. You can also find me at The Root, a midwife collective in Noe Valley, focusing on women’s reproductive health, pregnancy, and fertility. It is an honor to be a part of the House of Qi family and provide unique techniques based on ancient wisdom. Spanish speakers welcome, as long as you speak slowly ; ) Please visit my website for more information: www.lightfeatheracupuncture.com.
I am Arthur Dy, L.Ac., Original Yin trained Qi Gong therapist, and an AAAI/ISMA certified personal trainer.
Original Yin (OY) style of Qi Gong is a unique style of Qi Gong that focuses on activating the female instead of the male energy in order to restore the body back to its youthful state of softness and juiciness (OY Website and OY Manual ). As an OY Qi Gong therapist, my treatment involves applying these principles and techniques to activate my patients’ female energy, unblock their stagnations and restore their bodies back to a more youthful state of softness and juiciness.
In my capacity as a personal trainer, I teach my patients the core principles of OY Qi Gong and specific exercises/postures that are tailored to their needs and abilities so they can continue to improve their health even when they are not at House of Qi.
As an acupuncturist, I participate in my patients’ acupuncture treatment and develop strategies on how best to integrate acupuncture with Qi Gong for each treatment session.
When not working at HOQ, I spend a considerable amount of time practicing OY Qi Gong in order to enhance my health and capability as a Qi Gong therapist. I also study other forms of exercises such as Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi as well as cardiovascular and resistance trainings with an emphasis on their potential therapeutic values.
I am Olive Dy, an Original Yin trained Qi Gong therapist, AAAI/ISMA certified personal trainer and a California Acupuncture Board approved intern acupuncturist.
