I am Joseph Chang, MS, L.Ac., a San Francisco-based licensed acupuncturist. My treatments focus on qi gong therapy with acupuncture and herbal medicine. I have more than a decade of independent practice and co-founded the Original Yin School of qi gong with my brother Albert Chang, Ph.D.
My education was both in Taiwan and Oakland, California, and I am licensed by the California Acupuncture Board. My services are provided in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Taiwanese.
Kate Maxey (Currently on maternity leave) MS・L.Ac.・Qi Gong Therapist
I am Kate Maxey, a California and Nationally Licensed Acupuncturist since 2010. I first came to Joseph at House of Qi as a patient and stayed as a student and now a practitioner. My previous training was in Swedish and Shiatsu massage which I bring to the table in each of my sessions, combined with the “Qi Gong Therapy” House of Qi is known for.
As an avid yogini since 1995, I will invite you to connect with your breath and bridge the gap that keeps us disconnected from our own healing processes. You can also find me at The Root, a midwife collective in Noe Valley, focusing on women’s reproductive health, pregnancy, and fertility. It is an honor to be a part of the House of Qi family and provide unique techniques based on ancient wisdom. Andrew Polk Licensed California Massage Therapist
I am Andrew Polk, a Licensed California Massage Therapist and health educator. Graduating from The National Holistic Institute, I am educated in multiple massage modalities, to include: Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, MFT, sports, energy and table shiatsu. Currently I work with the House of Qi offering Qi Gong Therapy work partnered with acupuncture. I offer private massage sessions upon request as well.
